Michael d'Abadie | CPA, CA
Michael founded the firm in 1984 and has been responsible for the growth and development of the firm over the years. His accounting career commenced in 1968 with Price Waterhouse in Kingston, Jamaica. In 1974 he migrated to Australia where he worked for Coopers & Lybrand in Brisbane for two years. After coming to Vancouver, he worked as an Exchange Examiner at the Vancouver Stock Exchange for three years, then returned to public practice in 1979 with Grant Thornton in Vancouver.
Michael has extensive experience in the financial markets, which he gained through audits of stock brokerage firms, listed companies on the Vancouver Stock Exchange, a mutual fund dealer, and he also acted as the Chief Financial Officer of Haywood Securities Inc., a local brokerage house, for three years.
Over the years, Michael has served on numerous board of directors; for both profit and non-profit oriented enterprises.
Michael has used his international background and broad client base to implement creative tax strategies for many different situations. He has also acted in a business advisory capacity to many of our clients who have required professional guidance and direction.
Michael placed in the top ten percent in Canada in the year he passed the Uniform Final Examination to obtain his CA designation.
Michael is currently winding his professional accounting career down. He continues to serve our firm as a Partner.
Ron Moody | BBA, CPA, CA
Ron joined the firm in 1998 after working for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in the Audit, Assurance and Advisory Services department and became a partner in 2006. He is currently responsible for a variety of clients in varying sectors, including manufacturing, transportation, retail, construction, horticulture, property management and development, amusement and theme park attractions, and the film industry. He is also responsible for auditing a number of large not-for-profit charities involved in gaming, funding healthcare and providing programs for kids as well as auditing several union and non-union pension plans.
During his years at Deloitte, Ron's clients included the fifth largest transportation conglomerate in the world, a major Japanese auto manufacturer, textile companies, sport and commercial fishing companies, an engineering firm, a car racing company, and a brewery.
His non-profit clients included the largest healthcare employer's association in B.C. and the largest government employees union in B.C. He also audited the pension plans for the two largest daily newspapers in B.C., a bingo hall, and a First Nation community including the audit of their social service system and compensation structures.
Over his career, Ron has served on a number of boards; including not-for-profit charities, trusts, business, and a private school.
Ron placed in the top ten percent in Canada in the year he passed the Uniform Final Examination to obtain his CA designation. He also has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, with a concentration in Marketing.
Derek Christo | CPA, CA
Joining the firm in 2007, Derek began his professional career in 1995 after graduating from the University of British Columbia (Bachelor of Commerce) and completed his articles with Deloitte & Touche. In 1999 Derek joined a prominent mid-size accounting firm (DMCL) located in Vancouver and focused on corporate assurance and tax engagements as well as personal tax planning.
While at DMCL, Derek was involved with a significant number of audit engagements relating to private companies and public companies listed on both Canadian and US stock exchanges and he successfully completed the reciprocity examination requirements from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 2006. His involvement with private companies included personal tax and succession planning. Derek was actively involved with the establishment of firm protocol for recruiting, training and development of articling students at DMCL.
Since joining d’Abadie Moody Chartered Accountants, Derek has been responsible for overseeing firm standards on assurance engagements for both private for-profit and Not-For-Profit organizations as well as student development and training. He has significant experience with private and public companies (high-tech, mineral exploration, professionals, transportation and logistics, food and beverage, construction, real estate, property management, and pharmaceutical), and Not-For-Profit organizations (religious-based educational institutions and camps, charitable organizations, labour-unions, and pension plans) as well as personal tax planning.
Frank Eckholdt | BSc, CPA, CA
Frank joined the firm in January 2003 after working for the University of British Columbia as their Manager, General Accounting. He has extensive industry experience that includes working as a Corporate Finance Examiner at the Canadian Venture Exchange and an Auditor at the Real Estate Council of B.C.
Frank's public practice experience includes work as a Senior Auditor at Wolrige Mahon Chartered Accountants, and Articled with Lilly, Johannesson, McWilliams Chartered Accountants.
Frank graduated from the University of British Columbia after majoring in Physics. In 1993, he obtained his Chartered Accountant designation.
Since starting with d'Abadie Moody Chartered Accountants, he has focused on providing accounting, audit and tax services to a variety of owner-managed companies, personal tax clients, non-profit organizations and pension funds.
Frank is also involved in the community and served a four-year term as the Director/Treasurer for the B.C. Centre for Ability Association, and a Senior's Tax Clinic Volunteer with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.
Frank has also acted as Vice-President and Treasurer of the Pure Gold Toastmasters Club and served a six-year term on the Membership Committee with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.
Solange Lansiquot | CPA, CA
Solange joined the firm in January 2020. She began working in public practice in 2006, after obtaining her Diploma in Financial Management with a concentration in accounting, from British Columbia Institute of Technology. She continued her education completing her Bachelor of Technology in Accounting from British Columbia Institute of Technology and a Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan as well as her Chartered Accountant designation. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading and learning to play the piano.
Sharla Webb | BBA, CPA, CA
Sharla joined the firm in January 2012 and has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. In 2014 Sharla received her Chartered Accountant designation. In her spare time, Sharla enjoys reading, snowboarding, longboarding, tennis and pretending that she can play an instrument.
Ravneet Sandhu | BBA, CPA
Ravneet joined the firm in January 2016 and has Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting Honours from Simon Fraser University. Ravneet obtained her designation of Chartered Professional Accountant in 2020. In her spare time, Ravneet enjoys playing outdoor games, reading mystery novels, watching crime-solving dramas, and painting landscapes.
Jennifer Lynch | BBA, CPA
Jennifer joined the firm in January 2018 and has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of the Fraser Valley. In 2020, Jennifer received her Chartered Professional Accountant designation. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys reading, swimming, and running.
Ranjot Sandhar | BBA, CPA
Ranjot joined the firm in January of 2018 and has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from University of the Fraser Valley. Ranjot continued his education by completing his Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2020. In his spare time, he works with his family business and helps coach a local wrestling team.
Poornima Krishnamoorthi | B.Com
Poornima has a Bachelors of Commerce from India and Professional Education Level II certificate from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She has been a senior member of an audit team for a mid-sized firm. She is currently enrolled in the CPA PEP program and is working towards obtaining her Chartered Professional Accountant designation. She enjoys reading novels, singing, dancing and going on nature walks with her son.
Sharon joined the firm in 2005 and has a Computer Information Systems Certificate from B.C.I.T. She provides a variety of bookkeeping, accounting, and personal tax services to clients. In 2018 she moved to Kamloops but continues to work with us on a part-time basis.
